TweakTown is a pre year 2000 established website based around providing cutting edge technology content for PC and gaming enthusiasts, with plenty of general technology like phones and tablets as well. It has quite a large user base, and a load of content - if you want to know how the latest Intel chip or videocard stacks up, this site has it covered.
Recently I had a chance to work with Managing Director and Editor Cameron Wilmot on a new front end design. My brief was to take existing sections of the design such as menus and latest content lists and ads, and work them into a more modern and sleek look. Some HTML5 and CSS3 elements were introduced, such as transitions on the link hovers.
This is my first time really delving deep into an existing website I didn't originally create and rebuilding from the "middle up". Much of the back end and CMS components of the site were out of scope - this was purely HTML, CSS, JQuery, and a bit of PHP here and there where HTML generation was concerned.
